This doesn’t happen often in life. 3 whole months granted, free of work, free of dependents (plants aside), full of enthusiasm, and enough saved up over the years to do Something Big. Nothing excited either of us as much as the thought of upping sticks and heading to new and undiscovered places together, and in an attempt to plan a 3-month round-the-world trip we discovered South America in itself held much more than 3 months worth of our kind of excitements. And so the idea was born.

We’ll keep this blog up to speed as much as possible en route, from wherever we can find internet and photo downloading facilities! If anyone reading this has hints, tips, suggestions, comments etc etc we would be delighted to hear from you.

Adios, amigos!

    Big hugs!

SO exciting! Last-minute flap-doodles are the very essence of a grand trip and it looks like you are well in there : just think of the wide smiles on your faces as the last wheel rumbles up into place on take-off and you know that there is nothing more that you can do about it….. I just went through your itinerary – wow! – and the name of the farmers that Uncle John used to stay with while he was looking at his glaciers near Mt Fitzroy just popped into my head – Masters. I hope that you will find time to give us a re-run of your fantastic adventures face-to-face when you get back, and meanwhile Auguri and Buon Viaggio to you both from us down here. Love R&Liz

    • Unc and Ant! DEFINITELY a re-run when we get back. We are taking enough storage space for around 10,000 pictures (friends have already said they’ve ordered the popcorn in, ha ha) – definitely cause for a meet up some time in the new year! We’ll keep our ears out for Masters round the Fitzroy glaciers too…

We’ll be sorry to miss you in London in a few weeks, and wish you all the best of luck for the exhibition woop woop! Exciting times all round. Thinking of you, lots of love xxx

    Ten eerste:

    • Martial Says:

Dat was toen?! Yeah right!! ;)

Stay in touch!

      CU
      Martial

OMG! That guy in the plane, Toby, looks just like a guy we met in Australia years ago. Then I read he was German and so was the guy we met!!! I’ll have to ask Tory what his name was. Loving the blog!!!

  15. Mr. & Mrs. Theewis Says:

Is hier belachelijk warm maar erg geslaagd to dusver. Blog update onderweg =)

      Groetjes!

  16. Jacques and Marian Says:

    Just one comment! Wow!!!!!!!!!!
    Love, Jacques and Marian

  17. Jai Says:

helloooooo!! I just wanted to say that I am still missing you muchly, and think that your photos are out of this world. Are you going to want to come home?

The salt flats looked so spooky, I was imagining a slow-motion ‘Day After Tomorrow’ style tidal wave appearing in the distance to reclaim it’s ground…

We are all checking up on you every day.
Be safe, and huge amounts of love to you both, Jai xxxxxxxx
ps – sorry about Terry’s ‘hilarious’ link to the ship stuck in Antarctica. Hmmmm. xxx

  18. Tonia Says:

    Hi!
It looks like you cannot come online before going to Antarctica, still … I wish you a fantastic tour! Hope you will see whales … It is so extraordinary to be able to visit such a part of the world … Enjoy it to the limit! And be safe …
    Love you, mum/Tonia

  19. Little El Says:

Oooo, so enjoyed just reading your diaries and looking at your photos, it brings back all sorts of memories for me.
It looks like you’re having a brilliant time, despite the few ‘buglets’, i am very impressed with how much you are managing to fit in – what a trip!
    I hope Antarctica is amazing!!!!
    Much love, Ellie x

  20. Jai Says:

    Hello!

I know you are both out of reach at the moment, but I was thinking about you and wondering what you were doing right now, down there in Antartica!!!!?
I hope you are both ok, that the cold weather gear is doing its job, and that you are having the most incredible time. I can’t wait to hear all about it!

Huge amounts of love, Jai xoxoxo :-)

  21. Joris Says:

Groeten, Joris

  22. James Says:

    Hi guys

Looks like you are having an AMAZING time. Although you are coming to the end of your trip do not fear….. KILI NEXT!!! Woooooo!
